The Woodchurch Hub provides a central resource to the community in and around Woodchurch. It is managed and operated entirely by volunteers and is funded partially through the Woodchurch Parish council and partly through donations and grants. Located in the Memorial Hall car park and overlooking Woodchurch village green, we are centrally placed within the village and so offer an ideal meeting point for visitors to the village.
We are open every weekday from 10:00am to 1:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am to 12:00pm where we offer a range of services to residents, clubs and societies, local businesses and visiting tourists. We also manage the village’s public toilet.Â
If you are looking for general information around the local villages, looking for interesting places to take your visitors, need to find the latest bus timetables, contact the Parish Council or simply want to come for a chat and a cup of coffee then you are welcome.
We offer a range of services, which will continue to expand further over time
Originally the whole of The Hub building was an underutilised public toilet for the village that was funded by Ashford Borough Council. Following a period of central funding cuts the grants providing for local public toilets were withdrawn and local toilet facilities were then required to be funded by the local Parish Councils, or close. In April 2013 a group within the village (headed up by Rob Woods – who was a Parish Councillor at that time) saw an opportunity to re-purpose the building and create a central resource within the village. The initial aim of the Community Information Centre was to support local businesses and to help support and maintain a vibrant, thriving, rural community. The focus then, as it still is today, was Think Local – Buy Local. More recently the centre has become The Woodchurch Hub and its aims have been extended to provide a wider range of services to the whole community.
Although originally funded through Membership, we now rely on local Sponsorship and donations to help keep The Hub open. If you would like to become a Hub sponsor then please contact us.
